WhatsApp iOS users getting chat transfer, new UI tweaks for video calls, and more

WhatsApp has released a stable update for iOS users that brings a bunch of new features such as chat transfer, landscape mode support for video calls, and a silence unknown callers option. Alongside these, it improves the performance grade of the application, making it more responsive to consumers.

According to the inputs, WhatsApp is rolling out these efficient changes, including the chat transfer feature with the iOS 23.14.79 version. After testing the mentioned capabilities under the beta segment, the company has started widely pushing them to general users.

We are already aware of the chat transfer feature and silence of unknown callers, but landscape mode for video calls is a new piece in the changelog. In addition, the update also reads improved navigation for a large set of avatar stickers. You can check more details below.

  • You can now natively transfer your full account history when switching to a new device. Go to Settings > Chats > Transfer Chats to iPhone.
  • Redesigned sticker tray with improved navigation and a larger set of stickers with more Avatars.
  • Video calls now support landscape mode.
  • You can now silence unknown callers. Go to Settings > Privacy > Calls to get started.
