by Ashish

Android 12 is out for the developers and the beta updates will soon be available for the public beta testers. Meanwhile, Samsung users are very much interested in the One UI 4.0 that will be based on Google’s upcoming OS. So, here’s the Samsung One UI 4 Android 12 tracker to keep you updated.

Samsung is currently busy rolling out the latest One UI 3.1 and 3.0 update based on the current Android 11 OS to its eligible Galaxy devices. This OS for Samsung users comes with a bunch of new system changes that can be easily noticed on the lock screen and the home screen of the devices.

The South Korean tech giant needs to increase its speed for rolling out the current Android 11 and needs to shift its focus on the upcoming Android version that will be Android 12. Samsung is already doing great with its software update mechanism and there are no such improvements needed this time for the rollout of the One UI 4.0.

Will Samsung provide One UI 4.0 beta to budget smartphones?

Last time with the Android 11-based One UI 3.0 we saw that the company has included the Galaxy M31 and Galaxy A51 for the beta testing. This was the first time when any budget and a mid-range Galaxy device got the taste of the major upgrade ahead of the stable rollout.

Looking at the previous update schedule and strategy of Samsung, we can expect that it might offer beta testing for more mid-range devices this time. There are a bunch of Galaxy devices in this range launched recently.

The newly unveiled Samsung Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72 might be the ones to get the beta updates or any M series phone such as the Galaxy M42. Well, we don’t know yet which of these phones might be testing the One UI 4 features just like the flagship devices.

One UI 4.0 Features

As the One UI 4.0 will be based on Android 12, there will be many features that we’ll get to see from this upcoming Android version. Nevertheless, Samsung brings its own tweaks with every One UI version, like it did last time with One UI 3.

Not much is revealed yet regarding the One UI 4.0 features and there is still some time in this version to go on to your smartphones. The Android 12 will come with many UI changes and will bring more improved privacy. Based on this we expect the One UI 4.0 to add similar changes.

One UI 4.0 Release Date

If it goes just as per the last year’s schedule, the Android 12 is likely to be coming at the beginning of September and just after its release, Samsung will start its own preparation for the One UI 4.0.

The beta testing is more likely to start in the month of August with the latest Galaxy S21 series devices and will gradually expand to older flagships later on. It will be too early to say anything about the actual release date of the One UI 4.0 and we’ll keep you updated on this as soon as we receive something new.

Android 12 Features

As per the current developer preview rollouts, Google has made some hints that might be coming in the actual version. Starting with the UI, this time the company is planning its user interface inspired by Samsung. That is we’ll be seeing a more rounded corner design with the Android 12.

The security improvements are mandatory with every major rollout, but this time there will be some more in the security department. Below are some leaked features of Android 12:

  • Native Scrolling Screenshot
  • New App Pairs feature for Split-Screen Multitasking
  • Access Google Assistant through the power button
  • New Quick Settings buttons
  • Major optimizations for tablet

[Update: May 19, 2021]

The distance between the official Android 12 is decreasing as Google releases its first beta update for the eligible Pixel device. Although it’s now the actual versions and still there are some tweaks to be added but this beta gives us a hint about what Google is planning for this fall.

It brings loads of new UI changes and some internal software upgrades as well, support for many new functionalities that will make our lives easier and multitasking. With new privacy features the company will offer a secure environment for the users. And it will make it more transparent about which application is accessing your data. Read more
