Update 7, February 03 (09:33 ET) ― Android 12 in the US

In the US

The Galaxy S20 series users in the US are now getting the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update. The update is now rolling out for the unlocked units in the country. The update also brings the January 2022 security patch.

Software versions are:

  • Galaxy S20: G981U1UEU2EVA2
  • Galaxy S20+: G986U1UEU2EVA2
  • Galaxy S20 Ultra: G988U1UEU2EVA2

 

Update 6, February 01 (11:02 ET) ― T-Mobile releases Android 12

T-Mobile rolling out the Android 12 with One UI 4.0 update

The Galaxy S20 series users are now receiving the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update in the US on the T-Mobile network.

According to the official changelog, alongside the Android 12 and One UI 4.0, the update also brings the December 2022 security patch. In addition, the update also brings additional updates & improvements.

Software versions are:

  • Galaxy S20: G981USQU2EULH
  • Galaxy S20+: G986USQU2EULH
  • Galaxy S20 Ultra: G988USQU2EULH

 

Update 5, January 31 (01:21 ET) ― February 2022 security patch

February 2022 security patch rolling out

After the Galaxy Note 20 series, the company has now started rolling out the February 2022 security patch to the Galaxy S20 series.

The software versions are:

  • Galaxy S20 – G980FXXUDEVA9
  • Galaxy S20+ – G985FXXUDEVA9
  • Galaxy S20 Ultra – G988BXXUDEVA9

Update 5, January 15 (09:40 ET) ― January 2022 security patch for more markets

January 2022 security patch available widely

According to the latest report, after the initial rollout of the January 2022 security patch for the Galaxy S20 users in the US, the latest security patch is now available widely.

Software versions are:

  • Galaxy S20: G981BXXSCEUL9/G980FXXSCEUL9
  • Galaxy S20+: G986BXXSCEUL9/G985FXXSCEUL9
  • Galaxy S20 Ultra: G988BXXSCEUL9

The update is available in:

Austria, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Nordic countries, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Southeast Europe, Spain, Switzerland, the Baltic region, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, and the UK.

According to official information, Samsung added 62 fixes, 52 from Google and 10 from Samsung, in the January 2022 security patch. From fixed issues, 2 of them were critical, 39 vulnerabilities were highly prioritized, and 12 were moderately severe, while 9 vulnerabilities were included in Google’s own patch. January 2022 security patch rolling out in the US

Samsung Galaxy S20 series is now getting the latest January 2022 security patch in the US. The update is now available for the unlocked Galaxy S20 device owners. The update is likely to be available for locked units very soon.

Software versions are:

  • Galaxy S20: G981U1UES2DUL2
  • Galaxy S20+: G986U1UES2DUL2
  • Galaxy S20 Ultra: G988U1UES2DUL2

According to Samsung, the company added 62 fixes, 52 from Google and 10 from Samsung, in the January 2022 security patch.

Update 1, December 03 (05:02 ET) ― One UI 4.0 Beta 3

One UI 4.0 Beta 3 for the Galaxy S20 series

The latest Android 12-based One UI 4.0 Beta 3 update is now rolling out for the Galaxy S20 series users in South Korea, with the software version ending ZUL2.

According to the official changelog, the latest One UI 4.0 beta update includes fixes for several bugs and issues for a better user experience.

The locked versions of the Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra have started getting the new update in the US. The software versions are G981USQS2DUH2, G986USQS2DUH2, and G988USQS2DUH2 for the Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra. It also includes the September 2021 security patch.

The unlocked Galaxy S20 devices in the US are now getting the latest security patch. The software versions are G988U1UES2DUH2, G986U1UES2DUH2, and G981U1UES2DUH2 for the Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra respectively.
