UPDATE 2: May 30 (01:07 ET) – Redmi Note 9 & Redmi 9 get MIUI 13 update soon
Earlier, Redmi Note 9 and Redmi 9 users have been wondering whether they will get MIUI 13 update or not. But, recently, Xiaomi has started preparing to release MIUI 13 update for both the Redmi devices.

According to the latest information, Redmi Note 9 codenamed #Merlin for Global ROM with firmware number V13.0.0.5.SJOMIXM will receive MIUI 13 update based on Android 12 while Redmi 9 codenamed #Lancelot for Global ROM will get MIUI 13 update identified by its Version V13.0.0.4.SJCMIXM. The expected release of MIUI 13 for these devices is Q3 2022.
However, the Redmi Note 9 and Redmi 9 update will be first available for Mi pilot testers. If they do not find any bug or problem which is harmful to the device, then they will introduce it to the public. With the MIUI 13 update, Xiaomi improved “flow” by 20-26% for system apps and increased “flow” by 15-52% for third-party apps.

Xiaomi expanding its March 2022 security update for Redmi Note 9 users in India. The latest update comes with V12.5.5.0.RJOINXM and package size of 2.5 GB.

Xiaomi is busy releasing its MIUI 13 software update to its eligible devices. But the company is not forgetting to deliver the monthly patches for the devices. Meanwhile, Redmi Note 9 smartphone users have started grabbing the March 2022 security patch update.
The Redmi Note 9 receives the March 2022 security patch with version V12.5.4.0.RJOMIXM. Meanwhile, the update also carries an update package which has a size of 3.2 Gigabytes.
The changelog doesn’t showcase any special feature to the device. However, being a security patch the update will surely improve the system security and will further enhance the user experience.
