Apple’s AR Glasses may release in late 2024 with its second-generation VR headset

According to the latest report, Apple is expected to combine AR and VR technology into the same device, but at the same time, the company has also been working on new AR glasses. According to Haitong Intl Tech Research analyst Jeff Pu, Apple’s AR glasses will be released by the end of 2024.

In a report seen, Pu mentioned that Luxshare will continue to be one of Apple’s key suppliers, servicing devices between the end of 2022 and 2024. Among all the devices, the analyst specifically mentioned products such as the Apple Watch Series 8, iPhone 14, and Apple’s AR/VR headsets. Not only that, but Pu also said that Apple plans to launch new AR glasses in the second half of 2024.

There are few details about Apple’s AR glasses at the moment, and it is reported that, unlike Apple’s AR/VR headsets, the new AR glasses will be highly dependent on the iPhone due to design constraints. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said in 2019 that the rumored “Apple Glasses” would be more like the iPhone’s display, similar to the first-generation Apple Watch.

Apple’s Mixed Reality headset, on the other hand, should have a more powerful design to accommodate its powerful hardware, capable of processing AR and VR content at high resolution and independent of other Apple devices.

Moreover, while most of the current rumors are still focused on Apple’s first-generation AR/VR headset, Pu mentioned in his report that the company is already planning a second-generation headset, which will be released in 2024. To be launched with new AR glasses at the end of the year. The analyst still believes that Apple’s new headset will launch in early 2023.

While Apple’s headsets and AR glasses are still some time away, Jeff Pu reiterated that Luxshare is beefing up production lines for the new iPhone 14 and Apple Watch Series 8 models due later this year. The report mentions new “S8 and high-end S8” watches, suggesting that Apple will release two new Apple Watch models this fall.

However, according to previous reports from Ming-Chi Kuo and Bloomberg, Apple plans to release a new generation of Apple Watch SE, perhaps this model will share the same chip as the Apple Watch Series 8, which may be why Pu reports that there will be two new S8 models. In addition, Pu briefly mentioned how the new deal between Luxshare Precision and Chery Group will benefit the production of Apple cars.
