Gmail splits Report spam and unsubscribe buttons into two distinct options

Gmail is making a small but quite useful change by splitting the combined Report spam & unsubscribe buttons into two distinct options. This will make the UI more uncluttered, avoid false signals that might impact the messages you want, and elevate the overall user experience.

Gmail has heightened the Unsubscribe button to the conversation view after previously placing it in the three-dot overflow menu. Simultaneously, it has also made the button more prominent on the web and added it as a hover action in the inbox view alongside archive, delete, etc.

Notably, the change that separates Report spam & unsubscribe into two distinct options has rolled out in recent weeks to the web and Android, users who have not seen it yet, can upgrade the Gmail app to the latest version.
