Google Maps is testing some new colors that will ultimately make it look similar to its rival app. The company is adding an updated color palette for the background with a few lighter as well as vibrant shades. Let’s grab more details on this matter.
According to the information, the water now appears in a lighter texture than before. Users living beside the sea or ocean will be able to catch a clear difference between the previous and latest versions. Meanwhile, the color of natural land areas, such as forests and parks, has been changed to a darker green shade.
Further, the roads show up in gray color rather than white. Whereas, the footpath is dark gray and displays similarity to Apple Maps. Note that things are unchanged in the dark theme. On the other hand, the green banner at the top looks darker to flash clear information.
Google Maps is still testing these new colors. Hence, it is not possible to mark confirmation on this tweak for the moment.
