Google Messages adds camera shortcut to app bar

Google Messages the widely popular messaging app for Android users, has introduced a new and convenient feature called camera shortcut in the app bar. This new feature enhances the user experience by making it easier than ever to share photos.

The camera shortcut is a welcome addition to the Google Messages app, simplifying the process of sharing photos and videos with contacts. It eliminates the need to navigate through multiple menus or access the camera separately, making the sharing experience seamless and efficient.

You will see at the left of the magnifying glass a camera icon, which uses the same design that appears throughout the app. It very simply opens your phone’s default app to quickly take a picture.

After snapping, you get the Select conversation option, with Google not yet fully launching the fullscreen Select recipients revamp. However, the feature is currently only available for some users and may expand to more in the future.
