Intel Arc Alchemist mobile discrete graphics support Vulkan 1.3 API

In January this year, Khronos Group announced the 1.3 specifications of the Vulkan graphics API. Within a week of Vulkan 1.3’s release, it was supported on Nvidia’s Ampere to Maxwell, Intel’s UHD and Iris Xe iGPUs, and AMD’s RDNA1 and RDNA2 architectures.

According to the latest information on the Khronos website, Intel’s (Arc Alchemist) series has also fully complied with the Vulkan 1.3 specification. The list of supported models includes the Arc A7, A5, and A3 mobile graphics card series, although there is no mention of desktop products.

Graphics cards supported in the list include A770M, A730M, A550M, A370M, and A350M. Vulkan is a cross-platform graphics API, and Vulkan 1.3 is designed to be accelerated on OpenGL ES 3.1-like hardware so that the core API can be supported in a wide range of devices and markets. The core improvements include:

  • Dynamic rendering

  • dynamic state

  • Optimizing the management of shader pipeline compilation

  • Nsight tool support
