Apple is likely to launch as many as 6 iPhone devices in 2020 – 4 OLED and 2 LCD models: Source

In the old days, when there was a single new iPhone model and you had to decide the color and the storage option but now you have more options. In 2019, Apple announced the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max. What about this year?

According to a reliable source from Taiwan, Apple is likely to launch as many as 6 iPhone devices this year, 4 OLED and 2 LCD models.

We have a similar report from DigiTimes, which shared similar information about the iPhone 2020 series. The following report also confirmed the information from our source.

Further Digitimes added: “The latest news coming from the supply chain is that Apple is likely to add yet another LCD-based model to its iPhone lineup for 2020. This new member will be an upgraded version of the widely speculated ‌iPhone‌ SE2 featuring a 5.5- or 6.1-inch LCD display and available at the end of 2020 or in earlier 2021, said the sources.”

Our source didn’t share much information about the iPhone 2020 models. Well, according to a report last month (via AppleInsider), that report said, Apple next year might release six distinct iPhone 12 models.

Apple’s new iPhone 12 lineup will look like this (via AppleInsider):

  • iPhone 12 4G with a 6.1-inch LCD screen and dual rear cameras
  • iPhone 12 Pro 4G with a 5.4-inch OLED screen and dual rear cameras
  • iPhone 12 Pro 5G with a 5.4-inch OLED display and dual rear cameras
  • iPhone 12 Pro Plus 4G with a 6.1-inch OLED display and a triple rear camera with Time-of-Flight 3D sensing capabilities
  • iPhone 12 Pro Plus 5G using a 6.1-inch OLED screen, triple camera setup, and ToF features
  • iPhone 12 Pro Max 5G with a 6.1-inch OLED panel, the triple camera setup, and ToF.

Note: The above device list is based on AppleInsider’s report, our source said there will be 4 OLED and 2 LCD models.

In addition to as many as 6 new iPhone models this year, there’s a strong possibility that Apple will release a successor to the iPhone SE (could be called iPhone 9) in 2020. It could come with a faster A13 chip, 4.7-inch display, a Touch ID home button and 3GB of RAM. It will have a single-lens rear camera, like the original ‌iPhone‌ SE and the ‌iPhone 8‌.

Additionally, Apple’s A14 chip will be manufactured using TSMC’s new 5nm production process, down from 7nm fabrication seen in the A12 and A13.
