OnePlus Nord 2 Blast: User suffered severe burns, gets a refund and medical support from the company

Remembered the Galaxy Note 7, the biggest fault ever in the smartphone industry. Well, it was the old days, recently the Chinese smartphone company, OnePlus, is claiming the best “EXPLOSIVE” smartphone award.

YES! The latest Nord smartphone from OnePlus – OnePlus Nord 2 5G, is reportedly exploded in the user’s pocket. It caused users severe burns. According to various reports from multiple publications, this is the third incident where this device exploded, clearly showing dangerous signs.

In the most recent case, a Twitter user shared the pictures of the smartphone (Nord 2) completely burned from one side due to a battery explosion, along with the image of the severe injury.

MySmartPrice reported that OnePlus has issued a refund for the OnePlus Nord 2 5G and has assured to take care of the medical expenses.

As reported, OnePlus India collected the burnt Nord 2 from the user. The device has been sent to the Pune service center for further investigation. According to the report, the company has not shared any details about the blast.

FYI, there’s no confirmation from the Twitter user about the refund in his Twitter thread. However, the user added that OnePlus is in touch with the affected user.

About the previous incident, it first happened in August 2021 in Bangalore, second in Delhi.

The OnePlus Nord 2 5G was launched in July with the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset paired with up to 12GB of RAM. In India, it caused INR 27,999.
