Samsung Galaxy S25 to bring in-display volume and power buttons

Samsung S25 in-display volume power buttons

Everyone is talking about next year’s Galaxy S23 series, while leaks of the future Samsung Galaxy S25 series have already started surfing online. In a recent development, a fresh leak reveals that Samsung is looking to bring in-display volume and power buttons with the Galaxy S25.

Going by the information from a Korean tipster – OreXda, Samsung could remove the physical buttons from its upcoming Galaxy flagship smartphones. Instead, the future Galaxy devices will be able to use both volume up and down buttons and a power key through the display.

The report further suggets that to think that this technology will come in next year’s Galaxy S23 or Galaxy Z Fold 5/Flip 5 would be wrong. Samsung could be introducing the in-display volume and power buttons with the Galaxy S25 series or customized variants of Korea Telekom, which might launch in 2025.

At the current time, almost all smartphone manufacturers offer three physical buttons on their smartphones. These include two for adjusting the volume up and down and another is the power button to turn on and off the phone’s display.

Earlier, Samsung also used to provide a physical home key on its smartphones and tablets. This has now been completely removed from all new-gen Samsung devices. Similarly, the tech giant is next planning to remove the other physical keys with the help of software.

Removing physical buttons is not the first time in industry:

Samsung Galaxy S25 or other Galaxy smartphones will not be the first to not get physical keys and bring in-display volume and power buttons. Earlier Huawei launched Mate 30 Pro, which was the first to introduce a volume control function by touch and slide, however, the physical power button was not removed.

Aside from this, in the year 2019, Meizu also introduced a non-porous design and used pressure detection technology to recognize virtual power and volume buttons on both sides. Unfortunately, crowdfunding got failed due to which there was no mass production.
