Apple closes iOS 16.0.3 verification channel

After launching the official version of iOS 16.1 on October 24, Apple closed the verification channel for iOS 16.0.3, which was launched on October 10. This also means that if users have iOS 16.1 installed, they will no longer be able to downgrade to iOS 16.0.3.

Apple usually turns off authentication for older versions of iOS after a new version of iOS is released, to encourage users to keep the operating system updated.

Apple iOS 16.0.3iOS 16.0.3 is a minor update with a few bug fixes for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models. The replacement iOS 16.1 is a larger update, introducing iCloud shared photo library, real-time activities of the lock screen and Dynamic Island, support for Matter smart home standards, clean energy charging, and more.
