Tesla to postpone the delivery of its Model 3 electric cars in Israel

Delivery of Tesla Model 3 in Israel will be postponed. Tesla had obtained a commercial import car license issued by the Israeli Ministry of Transportation, allowing the company to start “unlimited full-scale operations.”

In early February of this year, Tesla launched the Model 3 in Israel and officially opened online sales in Israel. As soon as it went on sale, all cars that could be delivered in the first quarter of 2021 were sold out at lightning speed.

It is reported that the price of Model 3 in Israel is higher than its pricing in the United States and China. Nevertheless, the price of this car has indeed dropped significantly compared with the previous electric cars in Israel. According to such pricing, Model 3 can better compete in the Israeli car market.

Competitive prices, coupled with being imported from Tesla’s Shanghai factory (where car quality standards are high), Model 3 immediately brought demand to Israel. In late February this year, Tesla began delivering its first cars to Israel. Earlier this month, 1,500 Model 3s arrived in Ashdod port (the second largest port in Israel) by boat.

However, on Wednesday local time, it is reported that Tesla owners in parts of Israel were told that the delivery of their Model 3 would be delayed. It is reported that Tesla not only launched the Model 3 in Israel, the company’s Model S and Model X have also been listed in Israel.
