The Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus has launched a great number of flagship and affordable smartphone series. And this is not wrong that the OnePlus phone comes with remarkable hardware and software but still, one thing missing from the OnePlue phone is eSIM.
Let’s understand what are the reasons impacting it!
Understanding an eSIM is not so harder it is just based on the internet with no physical appearience. It’s basically a small chip embedded in your mobile device. This eSIM can store multiple operator profiles at the same time. You can also quickly switch between them, but only one number can be active at a time.
In the beginning, users face various network issues while operating their devices. That was starting but now the time has changed if have to simplify the setup of the device. Moreover, with eSIM, there is no need to insert or replace the SIM card.
If you are changing carriers, simply download the carrier’s software to your device and program the eSIM with the plan you purchased. This can significantly reduce the activation time of new phone numbers.
What about security?
In terms of security, these eSIMs have the ability to do anything remotely that requires strong network security to prevent tampering. Once the manufacturer or carrier completes the audit process, the results are sent to the GSMA for review. A PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) digital certificate will be issued once GSMA has confirmed that the requirements have been met.
Now the question is, will the next OnePlus bring eSIM?
The answer to this question is not in our hands, only the OnePlus official or the CEO Pete Lau can reveal this. At the moment, there is no information about the availability of eSIM functionality on OnePlus phones shared, but this announcement can be heard at the next OnePlus launch.
