Xiaomi making efforts to restart its chip plant despite the setbacks

This is consistent with the fact that the Chinese company launched the Surge S1 chip in 2017, this is the only smartphone processor that the company has introduced so far.

The company recently launched a new Surge C1 chip for image signal processing used by the Mi MIX Fold. When it was thought that Xiaomi had abandoned the chip, it turned out that this was not the case.

According to a recent report by Xiaomi, it is acquiring new people, eyes as a team again for high performance to re-enter the market. In addition, it has also begun the licensing process of negotiating with IP service providers.

A person familiar with the matter said that while Xiaomi’s goal is that chips for mobile phones, the next chip to be introduced to the company may not be related to anyone, as maybe start with a peripheral chip.

Xiaomi was founded as a wholly owned subsidiary under the name Beijing, Songguo Electronics in 2014 to enter the chip manufacturing industry and in the third year, the company released its first smartphone, the S1 Surge chip.

After the release of Surge S1 in 2017, nothing was heard from the department for a long time, they presented the company launch Surge C1 image signal processing chip, this year. But Lei Jun, the founder and CEO of Xiaomi, recently stated that despite the setbacks, the development of the chip will continue.
