You can now change stolen password with Google Assistant

Finally! a new and very useful feature for Chrome to protect your online privacy goes live. Google Assistant is now able to help you to change your stolen password or leaked password in a data breach. Also, it can now alert if your stored passwords are unsafe or reused.

This amazing feature of Google Assistant has started rolling out and gradually reaching users. However, this feature is currently working on limited sites and will soon more websites fulfill the requirement to add this feature. In the coming days, it is expected that a number of sites will support the Google Assistant password change feature.

As lots of people are not concerned about their passwords and have a habit to use a single password for every account they hold. But a leaked and stolen password can create a major problem for you. With the help of Google Assitant’s new feature, you can prevent the severe issues caused by compromised passwords.

How it works:

With Google Assistant’s new feature, when you simply log into the site with the stolen password. Then, a dialogue box will automatically pops-up with the “Change automatically” option button. Just after tapping, a confirmation sheet appeared on the screen, which required your approval to proceed ahead.

Afterward, you will be redirected to the affected website to set up the new password for the account. Now, you can change the password by yourself or can let the build-in password manager t suggest the strong one.

Google Assistant will be with you to handle the entire process from beginning to end. Meanwhile, there are options so that you can take over the process at any time. On the other side, you can also manually check the saved passwords by navigating to Chrome settings > Passwords, where you’ll also see the blue Assistant-branded “Change password” button for compromised login credentials.
