Microsoft introduced a new TargetReleaseVersion specification in Windows 10 version 1803 or later, which allows you to set which version of the operating system you want to upgrade to or which version to maintain.
In order to prevent the new Windows 11 operating system from being automatically installed on your PC, you only need to do a bit of registry editing.

Right-click on the “Start” menu, press Run (R), type Regedit, and then press OK to enter the Registry Editor.

Navigate to the computer HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SOFTWARE Policies Microsoft Windows Windows Update.

Create a new DWORD (32-bit) value called TargetReleaseVersion and assign it to 1

Create another DWORD (32-bit) value named TargetReleaseVersionInfo and assign it to 21H1.
If you have Windows 10 Pro, you can do the same through the Group Policy Editor.
This registry option will still automatically update your computer to the latest version of the operating system provided by Microsoft 60 days after your current version of Windows stops supporting, but this may be a few years from now. By then, Microsoft may have all the defects of Windows 11 are fixed. Moreover, all registry edits must be at your own risk, and you need to be cautious when modifying the registry.
