New Snap Layouts to manage windows with maximizing button in Windows 11

Windows 11

The multitasking window of Windows 11 supports “Snap Groups”, which can be said to be the biggest change in window layout since Windows 8.1.

In the latest Win11 Dev preview version Build 22494, Microsoft has added a feature to the system to display the snapshot group in Alt + Tab and task view.

According to Windows Latest experience, when the user configures several application windows as a snapshot group, a preview screenshot of the entire snapshot group will appear in the small window preview on the taskbar, and the user can click to open multiple windows directly.

At the same time, a screenshot of the snapshot group will also appear on the Alt + Tab switching interface, which will be displayed together with the general application window. After the user switches to the snapshot group, they can directly return to the layout without clicking on each application.

Moreover, this feature can also be turned off. If you think that the snapshot group makes the background window cluttered, you can turn it off in Settings> System> Multitasking. This function is currently not available to all insiders. Microsoft plans to monitor the feedback and check the feedback, and then push it to all users.
