Galaxy S20 series is getting camera performance improvements and security patch

Samsung has greatly improved its software update policy for the Galaxy smartphones in recent months. The company is rolling out a new software update to the Galaxy S20 series. The latest update brings the September 2020 security patch alongside the camera performance improvements.

The latest update is currently rolling out to the Galaxy S20 5G series and available in Germany. The company will likely expand the rollout to more countries in the coming days/weeks. The software versions are G981BXXU4BTIB, G986BXXU4BTIB, and G988BXXU4BTIB for the Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra respectively.

The Galaxy S20 series received the major One UI 2.5 update last month, brought several new camera features from the Galaxy Note 20 series. It also added wireless DeX feature and the support for Android 10 navigation gestures in third-party launchers.

If you want to check for the update manually, just head into the device Settings, go for the Software update manu and tap on the Download and install option.

What about One UI 3.0 for the Galaxy S20 series?

The company has already started the Android 11-based One UI 3.0 pre-beta program for the developers. The S20 series has received the first pre-beta One UI 3.0 build in the US and Korea, according to latest report, the device may soon get the second pre-beta build.

The company confirmed that the Galaxy S20 series will be first device to receive the stable Android 11-based One UI 3.0 update by end of this year, expect it by end of next month or early November.
