Starting this week, Google officially released the August 2022 security patch for eligible Pixel smartphone users, but the company did not release any information regarding the release. Google is now rolling out an Android security update (August 2022) for Pixel 6/Pro and 6a phones.

The latest Android security patches fix GPS location crashes and improve device security and performance under certain conditions. It may also include general bug fixes and improvements to system privacy controls. The latest firmware update brings these improvements to the phones listed above.
This incremental update is only for the Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, and Pixel 6a, but the August 2022 patch will roll out to all supported Pixel devices in the coming weeks.
