Huawei is scheduling the major EMUI 12 rollout and sending the monthly security release notes to the global users. In the latest edition, the most popular models from the Huawei P series in overseas markets- Huawei P30 Pro and P30 Lite receiving October 2021 security update.
According to our mates over HuaweiBlog (Via- HuaweiCentral), Huawei P30 Pro smartphones over EMUI 11 system users getting the October 2021 security update with VOG-L29 11.0.0.174 (C431E8R2P4) version.
On the other hand, Huawei P30 Lite users are also receiving security notes released in the month of October. Meanwhile, its last security patch was released in March 2021 as the smartphones are listed in the quarterly device list

Huawei P30 Pro:
As per the info, the Huawei P30 Pro October 2021 security update package contains a moderate update size of 215MB, it fixes the various CVEs to protect the smartphone from external threats. Moving to the changelog, the new update only contains the security patches for both devices. You can check the update log below-
Huawei P30 Lite:
The installation size of the Huawei P30 Lite isn’t clearly shown but observing the changelog, we can say, it’s easily downloadable over personal data. Aside from the security update, there is nothing much mentioned in the update log. However, you can check the image below-
How to Download:
- Open your smartphone and go to Settings
- Now tap on the System & updates
- Then open Software Update
- From here select Check for updates
- If an update is available, it’ll pop up on your phone
- Click on Download and install
- Wait for the process to complete, and Restart your device
However, you must remember to keep an advance backup of your data. In addition, keep an adequate level of battery backup on your phone to prevent battery blackout during the installation. Also, don’t disturb the update installation process and use a strong WiFi network.
