Huawei rolling out February 2022 HarmonyOS security update for Huawei Nova 7

As the global Nova 7 lineup devices started receiving stable EMUI 12 major software updates. Meanwhile, company has also started to rollout the latest February 2022 HarmonyOS security improvement for the Huawei Nova 7 series via an OTA update.

The February 2022 update is rolling for Huawei Nova 7 series smartphone with HarmonyOS version 2.0.0.221. However, this update is gradually expanding the consumers and may take some time to reach you.

If we go with the changelog, the February 2022 HarmonyOS security patch brings fixes for vulnerabilities including 2 CVEs in the system and 40 CVEs in the third-party libraries.

HarmonyOS 3.0:

Now, the Huawei Nova 7 series device users in mainland China have started wondering about HarmonyOS 3.0 and what it will bring for them. Meanwhile, Huawei has not confirmed the eligibility for this smartphone. But we can expect that it will be one of them to get access to HarmonyOS 3.0.

How to update:

  • Open settings
  • Go to system & updates
  • Tap on software updates and wait for the update to pop up on the screen
  • Tap the download and install button.

On the other hand, you can also request an update through the My Huawei app. Open My Huawei app and make sure that it is running on the latest version. Go to the update section and follow the on-screen instructions to install the update.
