OnePlus 9 series grabs new Android update, but it’s not OxygenOS

OnePlus 9 series is getting a new stable Android update with a bunch of improvements, though it is not OxygenOS. As per the revealings, the Paranoid Android Topaz team is releasing their Android 13-based custom ROM for several devices including the old flagship – OnePlus 9 models.

The company introduced its OS in August 2022 and shortly pushed the first beta for a variety of handsets. Eventually, OnePlus 9 series was part of this new Android update, which seems to be a good alternative to the OxygenOS 13. After the beta release, Paranoid Android Topaz developers are bringing the stable version.

Notably, it is a unified stable build for OnePlus 9 devices. This means that irrespective of which model you have in your pocket, you can download the same file. But before that, let’s take a look at the changes and fixes that the new upgrade carries on board.

  • Fixes the raciness of auto brightness.
  • Implemented AOSP’s Auto HBM for better sun readability.
  • Fixes Bluetooth issues.
  • Added high touch polling rate for touchscreen (Game Mode).
  • Bifurcation of QCOM common components.
  • Fixed charging speeds.

Not only OnePlus but several other phones like Xiaomi, POCO X3, and NFC variants are also eligible to grab the Android Topaz build. On the flip side, you can experience Android 13 even for your OnePlus 7 series model.
