Samsung testing One UI 5.1.1 for Galaxy Z Fold 5, Flip 5

Samsung has started testing a new software version, One UI 5.1.1 for the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 foldables. However, this time the Korean tech giant didn’t seem to bring anything like Android 13L, instead the next One UI will be based on the current Android version.

Last year, Samsung introduced the fourth generation of foldables including the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 pre-installed with Android 12L-based One UI 4.1.1. Which was later found a very useful software for the big screen devices, but this time things are going to be changed.

Recently, Checkfirm has detected a new test build of One UI 5.1.1 with the version number F731NKSU0AWD5 and F946NKSU0AWD5. However, the builds indicate that the software is getting tested on the upcoming fifth-generation foldables the Z Fold 5 and Flip 5.

To be mentioned, the One UI 5.1.1 development is based on the current Android 13, not on the L iteration or on the upcoming Android 14. But, we can expect that just like other One UI versions, One UI 5.1.1 will also bring some major cosmetic and performance-related changes for Samsung devices.

For a recall, Google has started the beta version of Android 14 for the Pixel devices, which will also be available for Galaxy devices in the future with One UI 6.0 software. However, as the launch date comes closer we expect to get more information regarding the development.
