September 2020 security update rolling out for Huawei Mate X

Huawei Mate X, Huawei’s first foldable phone getting a new software update. This update applies the September 2020 security patch to enhance the stability and security of your phone system.

Recently, Huawei started the recruitment of Mate Xs and MatePad 10.8 devices for the EMUI 11 beta testing program. Currently, this recruitment is for Chinese users and soon expand for global users.

MODEL (GETTING UPDATE):

  • Huawei Mate X (TAH-AN00)

NEW VERSION:

  • Huawei Mate X receiving EMUI 10.1 update with EMUI 10 version 10.1.0.167 from EMUI 10.1.0.166

*Currently, this update is rolling out in China

CHANGELOG:

Security: Integrated Android security patches released in September 2020 for improved system security.

POINTS TO KEEP IN MIND BEFORE UPDATE:

  • The update will not erase any data
  • Update size may vary from region to region
  • Maintain enough storage and battery
  • If possible, connect to WiFi

UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS:

Through Setting:

  1. Open Settings on your device.
  2. Click on system & updates.
  3. Click on the software update.
  4. Check for updates.
  5. Click on the download button.
  6. Install updates.
  7. After completion of the installation, the reboot option appears onscreen.
  8. Reboot the device.

Through Support app:

  1. Open the Support app on your device.
  2. If not installed, download it from the play store.
  3.  Open service tab.
  4. Tap on update.
  5. Check for updates.
  6. Click on the download button.
  7. Install updates.
  8. After completion of the installation, the reboot option appears onscreen.
  9. Reboot the device.
