On August 10, Xiaomi introduced Xiaomi Sound smart speaker in China. Now the OEM is sending a new firmware update for the product. It now supports 5 music playback methods as well as Apple AirPlay 2.
Previously, the device supported voice commands, UWB music relay, and Xiaomi Magic Broadcast, Bluetooth connection. Xiaomi says that with just one simple touch, one-touch, and one sentence, the whole house can be filled with wonderful music.

Xiaomi Sound Smart Speaker Features
Its computing audio technology can achieve dynamic tuning based on dynamic calculations of 330 times per second. The new “Nightingale Algorithm” can dynamically adjust high and low frequencies at all levels of volume. It can even give full sound quality when one listens to music at a low volume at night.
Moreover, the new speakers are built-in Xiao Ai assistant and Bluetooth 5.2 support. It lets you combine two speakers for a stereo effect but you can add up to 8 speakers for a combined playback throughout the house when connected to the same Wi-Fi.
Furthermore, the home sound transmission lets you use it as a Xiaomi sound speaker or an intercom between a Xiaomi mobile phone and a TV. The speaker has UWB to achieve ‘Point to Connect’ with the latest Mi MIX 4.
Last but not the least, the speakers come with a 2.25-inch neodymium iron boron dual magnetic circuit 12W full 12W frequency unit, equipped with a 54x44mm dual-suspension passive radiator, which can reach a maximum sound pressure of 90dB.
