Google Chrome adopts weekly security updates to provide fixes rapidly

Google Chrome is switching to weekly stable security updates channel to provide fixes and improvement rapidly. So far, the app was receiving major builds every four weeks and even served bug fixes every two weeks. However, things are now changing for good reasons in this matter.

With Google Chrome 116 version, the application will adopt the weekly security updates facility. Eventually, this will result in security updates reaching end users much faster than before.

Meanwhile, the company is expecting weekly patches to approach 3.5 days sooner on average, greatly reducing the already small window for n-day attackers to develop and use an exploit against potential victims and making their lives much more difficult.
