Samsung introduced the Extra Dim feature with One UI 4.0 upgrade. However, it’s not a feature developed by Samsung but by Google, which means it’s an Android 12 component. You might have known that Extra Dim mode is not available for all Galaxy devices and is limited to select Galaxy phones.

Meanwhile, there were also some customers whose phones had the feature but they could not find it on Accessibility or Quick panel. This was because of the issue, which has now been fixed with the new 13.1.01.4 Accessibility update.

Samsung Extra Dim Mode:

Extra Dim is one of the useful and loveable features Smausng brought with One UI 4.0/One UI 4.1 OS. It is specially meant for the time when standard screen brightness can feel indiscriminately harsh.

Even the Samsung Dex supports this feature so if your monitor is too bright, you can adjust the brightness. It not only protects your eyes from bright light but also consumes less battery and prevents overheating your phone.

Further, after updating your Galaxy phone’s Samsung Accessibility feature to the latest version, you will be able to find and use the Extra Dim mode. You can download this update through the Galaxy Store for around 20MB.

After this, go to Settings >> Accessibility >> Visibility enhancements >> Extra dim to find this feature. To use it, just turn the toggle on and it’s done. Meanwhile, to quickly enable or disable the feature, open Quick Panel >> Tap (+) icon >> Drag and drop the Extra Dim mode option >> tap Done.
