Samsung C&T is one of the developers that will help meet that demand. As a result, it continues to bring in more overseas orders, signing contracts for more than $600 billion worth of power generation projects in Vietnam.

Recently, South Korea’s Samsung C&T Corp and Vietnam’s LiLama Corp’s consortium have won a $940 million contract to build Vietnam’s first LNG – based power plants.
According to new information, Samsung C&T is not operating the venture alone, it will form a consortium with Leilama, a Vietnamese state-owned manufacturer, to build two gas turbines, steam turbines, and heat recovery boilers, as well as a substation and transmission line.
The consortium has recently signed under an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract granted by Petrovietnam Power, which will build a 1,500-megawatt Dong Nai province with a combined capacity of Nhon Trach 3 and Nhon Trach 4 plants.
However, Vietnam is currently generating more electricity from coal, drawing up a new national power development plan that includes 22 LNG-based power plants. The Lilama said Nhon Trach 3 and Nhon Trach 4 will use turbines that generate General Electric, and that plants should start generating commercial electricity between 2024 and 2025.
Samsung C&T, which is recognized for its solid position in the global market, received a total of $ 7 billion in overseas orders last year alone, including the construction of an ultra-high-voltage transmission network in the UAE and LNG expansion project in Qatar, both large companies.
