As for the rear camera, the 48-megapixel wide-angle lens will be an upgrade to the 12-megapixel wide-angle lens of the iPhone 13 Pro model. Apple is planning to release the third-generation iPhone SE supporting 5G in the first half of 2022, Kuo reiterated.

In addition, Kuo previously predicted that Apple will launch the first iPhone with under-screen fingerprint recognition in the second half of 2022, he now expects these devices to be released in the second half of 2023 due to the slower-than-expected development progress.

For similar reasons, he also predicted that Apple’s first foldable iPhone will be launched in 2024, which was previously predicted to be 2023.

There are no further details about which iPhone models might get an under-screen fingerprint sensor.
