Moreover, Zheng Kai’an pointed out that in the development of global advanced wafer processes, including TSMC in Taiwan, Samsung in South Korea, and Intel in the United States all plan to introduce mass production of the 2nm process in 2025, and all adopt the gate-around (GAA) architecture. , it is expected that 2025 will become an important node for advanced process competition.

It is understood that in addition to the above-mentioned manufacturers, there is news in the market that Japan will cooperate with the United States to start the research and development of the country’s domestic 2nm advanced process and the construction of manufacturing facilities.

According to the intention of both parties, joint research and development will be launched as early as this summer, and research and development and industrialization base will be built between 2025 and 2027.
