Apple launched its iPhone 14 series with lots of advancements, but still has not managed to bring a punch hole for a selfie shooter, instead, it presented a pill-shaped cutout with the two Pro models. Meanwhile, to make this cutout impressive, Apple shifted some functionalities surrounding the display hole and named it Dynamic Island.

The feature is quite new on smartphones so Android users also wish to have it on their devices. In the meantime, a big fan has managed to bring the iPhone 14 Pro’s Dynamic Island feature to an Android smartphone using a custom theme.

According to the report, this Android smartphone belongs to Xiaomi and the feature was first spotted by Techdroider’s Vaibhav Jain in a short video clip (via Android Authority). This short video shows how Dynamic Island-style notifications and a now playing section look on a Xiaomi MIUI device.

As you can see in the clip, the creator has successfully managed to hide the punch-hole selfie camera in the corner when the Island is expanded. This theme is reportedly called Grumpy UI and it is available only in the Chinese ROM presently.

The report further suggests that the MIUI Theme developer confirmed to Techdroider that the Grumpy UI theme is under review. As soon as the company approves the custom theme, it will be available in MIUI Themes Store.

Samsung might also bring Dynamic Island:

Earlier, a Samsung customer in the US community requested the One UI beta moderator to bring the iPhone 14 Pro-like Dynamic Island feature for Galaxy devices.

In reply to this, the One UI Beta moderator said that his suggestion has been communicated to the developer and the development project manager is reviewing the content. And after reviewing the suggestions, the company will apply them to the official version.

However, it seems Samsung would not officially bring any such feature to the upcoming Galaxy smartphones but developers might have started working to create a similar function and it could be available through custom ROMs in the future.
