As we know OnePlus is previously focused only on the high-end phone segment for many years but recently company entered into the mid-range segment. The Chinese phone maker has introduced its OnePlus Nord lineups in August 2020. In the series, the company has launched many devices including the OnePlus Nord N100, the OnePlus Nord N10 5G.
Earlier, it is reported that the company is preparing to release some more mid-range phones under the Nord lineup. The OnePlus Nord 2 will be launched to cement its position in the competitive smartphone market. It is expected to be launched in the second quarter of this year.
The smartphone will be powered by MediaTek’s flagship SoC that is the Dimensity 1200 with 5G connectivity. OnePlus is the first company which used Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 series of processors and later it used Snapdragon 600 and 400 series in Nord 10 5G and Nord 100, which the company launched earlier.
Ahead of the launch, key specifications of the upcoming OnePlus smartphone have leaked online. According to 91Mobiles, the OnePlus will launch the device with a 6.43-inch AMOLED display. The report further states that the OnePlus Nord successor will feature a triple-camera setup. It will include a 50MP primary camera sensor. Previously, Digital Chat Station had reported that the phone will feature a Sony IMX766 sensor. The same sensor is found on the OnePlus 9 Pro’s ultrawide sensor. The other two sensors will include 8MP and 2MP lenses. We can expect the 8MP sensor to shoot ultrawide images.
Under the hood, the phone will pack a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC. It will pack a 4,500 mAh battery as well. The device is rumoured to launch in 8GB + 128GB and 12GB + 256GB storage options. It is unknown if OnePlus will launch a special 6GB RAM variant for India like it did for the original Nord.
