OnePlus is testing a new forced dark mode in OxygenOS for more apps

OnePlus recently rolled out the OxygenOS Open Beta 11 for the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro. In the latest beta, XDA found that strings code within the Settings app. These strings suggest that the Chinese company is looking to bring a new forced dark mode for certain apps.

XDA managed to get through the Settings page for the details of the forced dark mode feature, but they didn’t get which apps will be supported under this feature in OxygenOS.

Google brought Android 10 also with an option to apply dark themes across all apps forcefully, but that wasn’t an ideal option for all apps.

OnePlus may be looking to make a similar feature like DarQ, which allows users to enable Android 10’s built-in forced dark mode on a per-app basis, so you can choose which apps you wish to darken. You can expect the rollout of this feature in the future.
