Although the Android system has always allowed users to install third-party app stores and side-loaded apps, the process of doing so is not very streamlined. Users must grant them permission to install unknown apps, and there is no way to automatically update the side-loaded application.

In late September last year, Google announced that it would make changes to Android 12 to make it easier for people to use other App Stores on their devices while being careful not to undermine the security measures taken by Android in response to Epic Games and Government Response Increasing pressure from regulators.
However, Google did not explicitly state what changes they would make to Android, nor did they share any specifics about this change on Google I / O in 2021.
Recently, in Google’s official blog post announcing Android 12, the company confirmed that it is “delivering on (its) promise to make third-party app stores easier to use on Android 12.”
Now, XDA developers found in the source code of Android 12 that the new system not only allows third-party app stores to install apps directly but can also automatically update apps in batches. Of course, users still need to allow the App Store to manage internal storage, but this will be one-time permission and will no longer be sought in the future, like the default Google Play Store.
