Android 13 public Beta 3 launched, reached platform stable status

In Beta 3, all application-oriented behaviors and APIs are final. For developers, this means getting apps ready for rollout. For users, it means that there won’t be a lot of changes after that, from a functional or UI change point of view. It is worth mentioning that Android 13 also reached this milestone a full two months earlier than Android 12.

The first developer preview of Android 13 was released in February, the first public beta was released in April, and the second public beta was released at the I/O conference in May. Compared to Android 12, Android 13 is a minor update.

Moreover, Android 13 brings privacy features such as new notification permissions and photo pickers, as well as productivity features such as theme app icons, as well as HDR video, Bluetooth LE Audio, and support for MIDI 2.0 over USB.

Android 13 Beta 3 is available for the following devices:

  • Pixel 4 and 4 XL
  • Pixel 4a and 4a (5G)
  • Pixel 5 and 5a
  • Pixel 6 and 6 Pro
