Android 14 QPR1 beta brings battery cycle count support for Pixel devices

Just like the Apple iPhone 15 series, Google Pixel devices are now getting the battery cycle count capability with the latest Android 14 QPR1 beta update. As of now, users would be able to gain better knowledge about their phone’s battery life.

It is worth mentioning that this section doesn’t reveal statistics about the battery’s health or maximum capacity. Although, it will tell how the phone’s battery is going on throughout the day. In addition, you will find the count of charge cycles and the manufacturing date of the battery.

To access the battery cycle count functionality in the Android 14 QPR1 beta 1 firmware, Pixel handset owners need to visit Settings. From here, tap on the About Phone section and select the ‘Battery Information’ option.

It’s unclear whether the US tech giant will bring this facility to every Android smartphone or will keep it exclusive to Pixel devices. However, it is a significant step in enhancing the battery aspects of the handsets.
