Microsoft bring a Win11 KB5008295 patch to fix problems

A large number of Windows 11 users recently reported that Microsoft’s screenshot tool (snippingtool.exe) has crashed on Windows 11 and cannot be used normally. Microsoft has admitted that this problem does exist.

According to the latest report, Microsoft has pushed the Windows 11 KB5008295 patch to users of Beta and Release Preview channels to solve the above-mentioned problems.

The following is the updated content:

  • Fixed a known issue that may prevent some users from opening or using some built-in Windows applications or parts of some built-in applications. This problem occurs because the Microsoft digital certificate expired on October 31, 2021. This issue may affect the following applications:

  • Screenshot tool, touch keyboard, voice input and emoji panel, input method editor user interface (IME UI), getting started, and tips

  • Fixed a known issue that prevented the Start menu and Settings application from opening as expected (S mode only).

Moreover, Users can update in “Settings” and check whether they have been installed through “Update History”.
