Microsoft Win11/10 free toolset PowerToys will keep up a fast display of mouse pointer position

Microsoft’s free system utility suite named PowerToys was resurrected from the Windows XP era and introduced to Windows 10 in May 2019. It can be used for advanced users to adjust and simplify Windows operations to improve efficiency. Working with Windows 10/ Windows 11 shell, users can customize various workflows at the same time.

According to the latest report, there is a trick in the Windows mouse pointer options that can help you find the pointer when you hit the CTRL key, but Microsoft will soon integrate this feature directly into PowerToys to help make your life easier.

Moreover, as can be seen in a video recently by team leader Clint Rutkas, it seems that PowerToys may take the CTRL key to find the mouse to a new level. In this clip, you can see a larger and white radar appearing on the mouse pointer, presumably when the CTRL key is pressed.

Rutkas said that similar to the existing function, this is a double control key to find the pointer. He also pointed out that this is a different experience compared to the old integration features in Windows.

Currently, to turn on this feature in Windows 10 or Windows 11, open Settings> Bluetooth and Devices> Mouse> Other Mouse Settings. This will open the old-style “Mouse Properties”. From there, go to the “Pointer Options” tab and make sure ” Show the pointer position when the CTRL key is pressed” is selected. After that, just press the CTRL key to open a circle around your mouse.

Moreover, Microsoft Powertoys may provide more convenient functions, which will be another useful supplement to the PowerToys toolset. Previously, there are Awake functions to keep your computer awake, Color Picker to select colors, FancyZones as a window manager, and Image Resizer.
