Apple iOS 16.4 satellite features rolling in more markets

Apple has started rolling out iOS 16.4 satellite features for iPhone 14 series in more countries. In the latest development, the tech giant has availed the Emergency SOS facilities and a few more tweaks for iPhone 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro, and 14 Pro Max users living in Australia and New Zealand.

To those who are unaware, satellite features in smart gadgets help users to use significant functions even in low network areas. The same case is with the Emergency SOS features. As the term reflects, users can send short texts to emergency services, and they can respond seamlessly to conduct a two-way conversation.

Wait! There’s more to the concept. Eventually, you can share your location with friends and family by using the Find My app. And the best part is, these features are activated as soon as the phone goes out of the cellular or WiFi network.

Meanwhile, the iOS interface constantly guides users to point the phone in a particular direction towards a satellite. A clear sky is the major requirement to generate the connection. You can also check this feature via Settings > Emergency SOS > Satellite section > Try Demo.

By now, the prominent element is available in 14 countries which include the US, UK, Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Australia, and New Zealand.

It is worth mentioning that the American tech maker is availing the Apple iOS 16.4 satellite features for free for up to two years. The plan starts either when you purchase an iPhone 14 model or when the feature is available in a country.
