Huawei is rolling out a new software update for its FreeBuds 4i adding AI Life app support for iOS users globally. While the Chinese variants have already got a firmware previously with optimizations and stability.
Identified by version number 1.9.0.176 upgraded from version 1.9.0.166, this update comes with a negligible package size of 1.30MB. It just adds support of the AI Life app for iOS users and nothing else, so the tiny package size is negligible.

Recalling the last update of the FreeBuds 4i, Huawei released several optimizations for the calling experience and added health reminders using voice. This was one of the interesting and exciting updates for the users.

Things to remember before update
The FreeBuds 4i users must remember that this is a staged rollout and may take time to cover every single device. But if it has arrived then maintain at least a 30% battery on both the devices.
Also, make sure that the earbuds are in the charging case and keep it open during updates. Lastly, pair the earbuds with your phone again before charging and updating.
How to check for updates?
- Open AI Life app
- Then tap on Check for updates >> UPDATE
- Wait until the update completes
- after completing, close the charging case and wait for 10 mins for the case to be updated
