The latest update released on Tuesday informs PS3 owners that at least 200MB of free space is required to install the firmware. The changelog mentions unspecified additional features, as well as improved usability and security.

Sony’s continued support for the console has delighted many fans, especially after fears that the manufacturer will soon drop support for the console. We will remind, earlier it was reported that Sony will close the online store for PSP, PS3, and PS Vita in 2021.

Then Sony changed its policy: the PSP store will be closed on July 2, but the PS3 and PS Vita stores will continue to operate. Sony Interactive President Jim Ryan recently detailed how important the PS4 is to Sony’s continued success. It seems that the company is not yet ready to give up on the PlayStation 3 either.
