A tipster revealed that the next-generation iPhone SE to be released in 2022 will use the same 4.7-inch display as the second-generation iPhone SE. The second-generation iPhone SE design is based on the iPhone 8, with a 4.7-inch display.

There have been rumors that Apple is developing an “iPhone SE Plus” that may be released this year, but earlier this month, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that there will be no new iPhone SE series before 2022.

The tipster also disclosed that after the minor update of the iPhone SE in 2022, there may be more radical design changes in 2023. As reported, Apple is developing a 6.1-inch version of the iPhone SE that uses a perforated design instead of bangs.

It is rumored that Apple plans to bring the punch-hole display to the flagship iPhone model in 2022. Therefore, after the launch of the new iPhone 14 model with this design, the design may be applied to the iPhone SE one year later.

The perforated design can maximize the available display area while also leaving room for the front camera. Although there will probably not be any design changes in the upcoming iPhone SE in 2022, it is expected that the device will get an upgraded processor and 5G support. Young said it may be limited to below 6GHz.
