Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, Flip 4 performed well in drop test

Launched at Galaxy Unpacked event last month, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 come with many internal upgrades over the previous versions. Samsung also says that these are built with great quality which turns out to be true as Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 performed decently well in a drop test.

A famous YouTuber named PhoneBuff has recently shared a drop test video of the all-new foldable smartphones. In the video, the YouTuber has dropped these phones from different distances and angles so that you can clearly see which distance can ruin your new foldable phone.

Before knowing about the drop test results, it should be noted that Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 use Gorilla Glass Victus+ on both front and backsides, and there are better damping materials inside to bear the shock.

Furthermore, the video reveals that when the phones were dropped from the back side the glass on both phones didn’t break and the same was the case when these were dropped from the front side. That’s because of the metal railing around the phone which absorbed all the drop impact.

Whereas, when the devices were dropped on the hinge, the armored aluminum that Samsung is using on both phones was scuffed. On the other side, when the YouTuber put the devices under-rotated backdrop, the Fold 4 survived the drop with a few scuffs and the Flip 4 had a minor crack.

The tester has further put the devices through an under-rotated cover screen drop which results in the shattered screen of Flip 4 and amazingly, the Fold 4 doesn’t get a single scratch on the cover screen.

Further, the main screen of both the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 survived the drop test that’s because of the guard railings around the inside.

Next, the devices were dropped in the semi-fold stage, which also didn’t affect both phones. But the halfway-opened hinge position drop shatters the back of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 glass.

Resultantly, Samsung has greatly built both Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 as they amazingly survived the drop text. Check the complete video below:
