According to the latest report, Apple’s next-generation 2022 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models use M2 Pro and M2 Max chips and will be equipped with “very high-bandwidth high-speed memory.”

The current 2021 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro models come with Samsung LPDDR5 memory, with the M1 Pro chip offering up to 200GB/s of memory bandwidth and the M1 Max chip up to 400GB/s.

On a speculative basis, it is possible that the new MacBook Pro models will feature Samsung’s latest LPDDR5X memory, with a 33% increase in memory bandwidth and a 20% reduction in power consumption. This will bring the memory bandwidth to 300GB/s for the M2 Pro and 600GB/s for the M2 Max.

Apple MacBook Pro 2022 BandwidthAside from the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman expects few changes to the next MacBook Pro models. The new laptops are expected to be announced in November in the form of a press release.

Moreover, Apple has launched new Macs in November several times in recent years, including the 2019 16-inch MacBook Pro and the first three Macs to feature the M1 chip in 2020.

Furthermore,  the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with M1 Pro and M1 Max chips, released in October 2021, feature a complete redesign with a notch display and added HDMI ports, a MagSafe magnet, an SD card reader, etc.
