Global semiconductor sales to reach US$545 billion this year and exceed 600 million next year: Analysts

The global supply of automotive semiconductors that began at the beginning of this year has spread to many automakers such as Ford and Hyundai. It is still continuing. The supply of smartphone processors is also relatively tight. There is also news that demand exceeds supply.

The demand for semiconductors in many fields such as automobiles is in short supply, which means that global semiconductor sales will increase significantly this year, and major manufacturers will benefit from it.

An analyst from a well-known research institution recently stated that the economic recovery has led to increased demand, coupled with semiconductor shortages, will boost global semiconductor sales this year, from last year’s 466 billion US dollars to 545 billion US dollars.

After a slowdown in growth in 2022, global semiconductor sales will decline in 2023, and analysts expect it to be $592 billion. However, growth will resume in 2024 and is expected to reach 611 billion US dollars. The growth momentum will continue in 2025, with estimated sales of 649 billion US dollars.

Global semiconductor sales will increase from 466 billion U.S. dollars in 2020 to 649 billion U.S. dollars in 2025, which means that from 2021 to 2025, the average annual growth rate of global semiconductor sales will reach 6.8%.
