Google brings Omnibox redesign for Chrome

Google Chrome Omnibox redesign

Google Chrome is working to redesign Omnibox for Android. The suggestion interface and address bar are likely to come with a new look.

There are chances that this redesign will roll out with the Chrome 108 version which is currently in the Canary development stage.

The first glimpses of the redesign have come to us by 9to5Google.

Chrome’s Omnibox is the search box on the Chrome browser or you can also call it a URL bar. It allows you to register a keyword with Google Chrome’s address bar.

One important feature of the Omnibox is that as you type into it, it reviews all the previous searches that are relevant and shows them to you.

The new design shows the URL suggestions and searches in a box with rounded corners. Also, the suggestions are highlighted in a small card of their own with a dark background.

Although, this design is in the making and Google will bring the Omnibox with more refreshments soon. The new UI will appear on the Chrome flag chrome://flags/#omnibox-modernize-visual-update. When you will enable this flag it will show you the new UI that is visually updated now.

The flag is also available on Chrome 105 which is currently stable.

Get ready to experience the revamped design of Omnibox in the Google Chrome browser with Chrome 108.
