Huawei SingleBAND intelligent multi-frequency fusion solution launched

Huawei

On 18 October Huawei launched its singleBAND intelligent multi-frequency fusion solution at the 2021 Global MBB Forum. This solution integrates two innovative technologies to achieve the best overall network performance and contribute to the 5Gigaverse ecosystem.

The Huawei singleBAND solution offers edge cutting attributes such as flexible frequency decoupling, full-band multi-beam, three-dimensional coordination, and intelligent base stations. It mainly aims to increase the value of the spectrum. Let’s explore the two concepts on which the Huawei singleBAND solution is based.

Multi-frequency Integration of One Network Concept:

As is well known, 5G will demand more frequency bands along with versatile bandwidth. This will increase the coverage performance between the TDD and FDD bands. Furthermore, multi-frequency integration on a single network using efficient coordination of multi-frequency network resources will enable mutual assistance between multiple frequency bands.

As mentioned earlier, there are two innovative technologies applied to this solution. The first is flexible decoupling of all frequency bands to aid in the ubiquitous gigabit experience. Meanwhile, the second one is full-band multi-beam three-dimensional coordinated scheduling that increases the capacity of the entire network. A brief description of both is given below-

Huawei

First Innovative Technology:

The first technology is flexible decoupling which provides 5G NR uplink services using sub-3G spectrum. This spelled out the overall TDD uplink and downlink coverage. To be more precise, the supplemental uplink carrier bandwidth of 100 MHz provides a higher uplink rate of 1.1 Gbps for each user. Furthermore, an average user experience gain of 30% has been recorded.

Second Innovative Technology:

The second technology that has been integrated into this solution is multi-antenna. This helped in realizing multi-user pairing through a single frequency band. Going forward, full-band multi-beam three-dimensional coordinated scheduling has improved network capacity by 25%.

Intelligent Base Stations: Upgrade of Regular Multi-Frequency Technology

Intelligent base stations are able to forecast air interface signal strength, spectrum efficiency, beam, and other conditions. This brings an increase in accuracy and traditional multi-frequency characteristics. Furthermore, the average user experience for multi-frequency networks has seen an overall 20% progress.

At the event, Jiang Xudong, president of Huawei Singleran Domain, commented, there is no end to innovations. Huawei proposes a singleBAND intelligent solution aiming to overcome the current challenges of complex networks in the 5G era.
