Musk plans to cut half of Twitter’s jobs: Report

According to the latest report, Musk plans to lay off about 3,700 jobs at Twitter, which accounts for half of the social media company’s total workforce. Musk’s move was to lower the cost of the acquisition, the sources said, following his $44 billion takeover of Twitter.

Moreover, Musk also intends to cancel the company’s current remote office policy and require remaining employees to go to the company to work, but some people may make exceptions.

Musk and a team of advisers are reportedly weighing plans for a series of layoffs and other policy changes at Twitter, the terms of which could still change, the sources said. In one package being considered, laid-off employees would receive 60 days of severance pay, two of the people said.
